Why Buy A Water Proof Mattress Cover?

Now that you have got yourself a great mattress, one that is comfortable and durable, it is time that you thought about investing into a cover for it. Although the mattress manufacturer might give you a 2 or 3 year warranty on the mattress, it does not stop your mattress from wearing and tearing as soon as you use it. This is especially true if you have children sleep on it.

You might be inclined to think that simply using a bed sheet can protect your mattress from the usual wear and tear, think again. A bed sheet is not water proof and it cannot therefore protect against liquid spills. What can however protect your latest investment is a waterproof mattress cover. Such covers are great investments considering how people often use their mattresses. People do not find the time to dust and clean their mattresses more than once a year meaning that it will stay dirty for most of the year.

Water beds in particular require a thick and durable cover, one that is made from material which is sturdy against abrasions since a small pin prick can destroy the water bed. Even if you do not go for a water bed, you should still think of a cover. Coir mattresses may seem sturdy on the outside but give it a few cuts and tears and the coir start sticking out making it a pain to sleep on. With a cover in place, you can happily avoid such scenarios.

When purchasing a second-hand mattress, one simply cannot guard against defects in the used mattress. The only way you can make your mattress look new is by putting a cover over it. This should give your old mattress the appeal of a new one and protect its fragile nature from outside forces.

Brand new twin mattresses are never all that new. Even when they come out of packaging, they contain within them a lot of unwanted substances such as dust, pollens, dust mites and bed bugs. The only way to get rid of them is to give them a good dusting and a proper exposure to the sun. One other way to ensure than neither of these things enter your mattress is to prepare a twin mattress cover for it.

By using mattresses with a cover, you can clean the cover as it gets dirty and avoid cleaning the mattress which can be in itself a quite demanding task. Moreover, in the case of night falls and children urinating in the bed, a waterproof mattress cover can save the day as it protects the mattress underneath it.
